The Glades Weekly Summary for the weeks of 11/10-11/24

Hello from your Landscaping Team!

Good day Everyone

Fall is in the air !!  To everyone coming back, welcome home.

General Pruning:

  • We are excited to see how we get the seasonal flush of flowers that are already flushing out for this fall.  As we start another cycle of detail pruning Many of the plants are now starting to show dormancy on the growth patterns. This said you will see a different approach to the flowering plant material.  Our team will primarily be working with shaping and using loopers and hand prunners where now possible. There are still some areas where we will be reducing plant material further down in the size. This will be reviewed with board members before cuts are made.
  • We have completed an application of growth enhancer and regulator in all the sections. This will be a 2 part treatment one now and one as we come into March and April. As with all the much needed cuts complete it will be a completely different management load next year.  Attached you will find the flier for the plant health care product we are using. We will still be working towards bringing all  the hedge material where approximate to the 6 foot range as we cycle through the fall / winter months.

Weed Control:

  • In the beds we are still working on the weed control and have gained much control. In the coming months we will be applying a premegerant to assist with the spring flush in controlling the outbreak. This last year was a learning lesson we are not going to repeat. This has improved much over the last 2 weeks of dier weather and the product change. still some areas need attention and work towards. A  This has been a difficult process of control however with applying the Sure guard this will aid in next spring’s flush as far as suppressing.
  • Now as it pertains to the turf areas we will only be targeting the areas where the Grass has a stronger threshold than the common weeds there now.  This is also being reviewed with Management. We have also treated and identify Mole Crickets in some sections this has been provided to management

Mowing:

  • Starting this week of November 10th the teams will begin every other week mowing. teams are on track and will remain weekly till we move into April. We will also be mowing a slightly higher height to allow more leaf blade to capture subsklight.

IPM:

  •  We have been targeting the dollar weed and the broadleaf weeds. We have pulled back on herbicide treatments in an effort to maintain ground cover. The next property review and treatment  for fungus and weeds will be at the mid December.
